The Ten Commandments Jaškovská krčma
Trends come and go. We have been welcoming guests from all over the world since as far back as 1268.
The Ten Commandments of the Inn, in brief
-
We never lie, but we let the legends do the talking.
-
We’re not a museum – we’re a living pub.
-
We’re not a tourist attraction – we’re a real place.
-
History is the backdrop; the guest is the main character.
-
Every guest leaves with their own story.
-
Tradition must go hand in hand with the quality of today’s services.
-
Secrets are meant to intrigue, not to frighten.
-
Humour belongs to Trdlo, wisdom to the Monk, and courage to Jašek.
-
Every detail on the premises should have a purpose.
-
Hospitality is Jaškovská krčma’s oldest tradition.
The Ten Commandments of the Inn, in detail with explanations
-
Truth is the foundation of our story
Our history is genuine. Where historical sources end, the legends and imaginations of our ancestors begin. We do not confuse one with the other, because even legends have their own value.
-
We are not a museum. We are a living pub.
Our walls tell tales of the past, but our tables belong to today’s guests. Every day brings new memories, new celebrations, new friendships and new stories.
-
We don’t just pretend to be in the Middle Ages. We draw inspiration from it.
Our aim is not to create a backdrop or a theatrical setting. We want to enable visitors to experience a genuine place that has been alive and thriving continuously for many generations.
-
A guest is not a spectator. A guest is part of the story.
Everyone who passes through the Jaškovská krčma gate adds their own chapter to the chronicle that began more than seven centuries ago.
-
Hospitality is our oldest tradition.
It once offered shelter to weary merchants and travellers. Today, it offers comfort, good food, relaxation and a warm, friendly atmosphere.
-
Every detail must have a purpose.
From the historical paintings on the premises, through the menu, the music, the scent of wood and the candlelight, right down to the way we welcome our guests – everything is designed to come together to create a single, authentic world.
-
A secret should arouse curiosity, not fear.
The Spirit of the Pub, the Secret Passage, Jašek, Mnich and Trdlo are not horror stories. They are an invitation to discover the tales that people have been telling each other for generations.
-
Humour is part and parcel of a good pub.
Trdlo reminds us that, alongside history, respect and mystery, there must also be laughter, joy and good friendship here.
-
The past meets the present.
Guests can experience the atmosphere of days gone by without sacrificing modern comforts. History and quality of service must always go hand in hand.
-
The story continues.
The first chapters were written by merchants, travellers and the inhabitants of times gone by. Today’s chapters are being written by our guests. And one day, future generations will write them too.
